This project focused on monitoring, investigating, and reporting the use of social media platforms for the spread of disinformation in Bangladesh as the country prepares for its upcoming election in January 2024. The main goal of this project is to monitor the activities of Facebook groups/pages with affiliations to any of the 2 major political parties the Awami League (AL) and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), analyze their behavior, identity networks of groups spreading gendered disinformation and see if it is coordinated. We published a report with this findings in partnership with a global nonprofit Tech Global Institute led by ex-Meta leads in South Asia.
