Dissecting Misinformation Dissemination on Telegram amidst Russian Invasion of Ukraine

The project aims to identify coordinated activity promoting disinformation, hate and extremist content related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Telegram channels. The approach involves collecting data from fact-checking sources, identifying frequent misinformation-sharing news outlets, searching for their instances on Telegram over-time, and scraping relevant suspicious channels. Quantitative analysis (statistics, network graphs) and qualitative analysis (bridging/aggregating channels, information cascades) is being performed to understand the dissemination patterns, key influencers, frequency and coordination in posting behavior across the network.
